A seminar on Self-Employment is being organised on 12.08.2026 by MSME Ludhiana at Government Polytechnic College, Rupnagar. The seminar aims to inspire and empower students with valuable insights into entrepreneurship, self-employment opportunities, skill development, and starting their own ventures. Such initiatives help students explore new career pathways and transform their ideas into successful enterprises. A new academic journey begins! Government Polytechnic College, Rupnagar warmly welcomed the students of the Academic Session 2026–27 through its Orientation Programme. Our Principal, Dr. Navneet Walia, extended a warm welcome to all the newly admitted students and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities available at the institution. He inspired the students to remain dedicated to their studies, develop their skills, and strive for excellence in every aspect of their academic journey.

The Worthy Director, Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab, visited Government Polytechnic College, Rupnagar on 06.07.2026 During the visit, he reviewed the academic and infrastructural facilities, interacted with the faculty and appreciated the institute's ongoing initiatives for quality technical education and skill development.

We are pleased to share that an MoU has been signed between Govt. Polytechnic College Rupnagar and NIELIT Ropar (Deemed to be University) under the guidance and leadership of Principal Dr. Navneet Walia. This collaboration aims to provide students with enhanced opportunities for training, skill development, and various internship programmes that will help bridge the gap between academics and industry requirements. The partnership will encourage practical learning, technical exposure, and employability-focused initiatives for the students, helping them prepare for future career opportunities.

Faculty members participated in the Faculty Development Programme organized by National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology Ropar under the FutureSkills initiative. The programme aimed at enhancing knowledge and practical exposure in emerging technologies and future-ready skills. It provided an excellent platform for faculty members to upgrade their technical competencies through expert sessions, interactive learning, and hands-on activities.

This project focuses on using renewable energy to create an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution for grass cutting. The system uses a solar panel to generate electricity, which is stored in a battery and used to run a motor for cutting grass. This project helped to understand practical applications of renewable energy and basic automation systems.

This Chemical Engineering project, Wind Tree, is a creative model designed to generate clean and renewable energy using wind power. Inspired by the shape of a natural tree, the structure uses multiple small wind collectors arranged like branches to capture wind from different directions.

Students visited NIELIT Rupnagar, where an informative training session was conducted. The session provided valuable insights and hands-on learning opportunities, enhancing students’ knowledge and practical skills. Dr. Sarwan Singh, Scientist ‘D’ at National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology Ropar, guided the students regarding various training opportunities and other academic programmes. His directions provided clarity on skill development pathways and encouraged students to actively participate in future learning initiatives.

The visit of MP Malvinder Singh Kang to GPC Rupnagar was a proud and inspiring moment for the institution. During his visit, he engaged in a meaningful interaction with the students, motivating them to stay focused on their goals and make the most of educational opportunities. He also appreciated the efforts and progressive initiatives taken by the Principal in fostering a positive learning environment and promoting overall development. Such visits encourage students and staff alike, reinforcing the importance of dedication, innovation, and continuous growth in education.
