The Department of Applied Sciences plays a fundamental role in building a strong academic foundation for students across all engineering disciplines. It focuses on imparting essential knowledge in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, which are crucial for understanding core engineering concepts. The department emphasizes both theoretical learning and practical application through well-equipped laboratories. Students are encouraged to develop analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a scientific attitude that supports their technical education and future careers. With experienced faculty and modern teaching methodologies, the department ensures that students gain a clear understanding of fundamental principles and their real-world applications, preparing them for advanced studies and industry challenges.
Faculty of our Applied Science department is highly qualified, experienced, talented and working hard to impart quality education during first year of diploma course of various engineering branches. It is a saying that ” one must have first of all a strong foundation.” So in the founding/ first year of three year diploma courses utmost care is taken to maintain a balance between theoretical and practical work in subjects like Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry and to sharpen the students’ soft skills and life skills to ensure the holistic development of their personalities.

Lab Description:
English and Communication Skills Lab
Communication Lab facility is provided for improving the speaking and listening skills of the students. Language Lab offers students a platform to enhance English language skills like communication skills and other soft skills in the technical world. It keeps them ready for interviews and future job environments and makes them confident in expressing comfortably. With use of AV aids various sessions of group discussion, reading skills, listening skills, and oral presentations are conducted.
Applied Physics Lab
Physics Lab is designed to provide students practical perspective on the theories and models that they study in the courses in the class. It brings clarity in the mind of the students regarding the basic concept of the subject. The laboratory is well-equipped with essential instruments and apparatus such as voltmeters, ammeters, lenses, balls, pendulums, inclined planes, magnets, resistances, screw gauges, and vernier calipers. These tools enable students to perform experiments effectively, develop analytical skills, and enhance their scientific approach towards problem-solving.
Applied Chemistry Lab
Chemistry Laboratory has all the necessary equipment for preparation of samples and standards for various analyses of liquid and solid samples. The laboratory houses traditional equipment including glassware, electric oven, centrifuge, aggregate mill, and chemical balances. In order to foster scientific temper and spirit of enquiry in students by letting them test and verify various theories and principles of chemistry, the college has well equipped, maintained, instrumented chemistry laboratory.
